Ballymore Eustace Water Treatment Plant Upgrade

Uisce Éireann is upgrading the Ballymore Eustace Water Treatment plant to benefit 1 million customers.

Uisce Éireann, working in partnership with Dublin City Council, has commenced works to upgrade the Ballymore Eustace Water Treatment Plant. This project will benefit approximately one million customers, ensuring the continued delivery of a clean, safe drinking water source. Glan Agua Ltd. is delivering the project on behalf of Uisce Éireann.

The Ballymore Eustace Water Treatment Plant was the site of a water quality incident in August 2021 where the disinfection system at the plant failed. Emergency rectification works were carried out directly following this incident in order to ensure public water supply would not be interrupted in the area, however more upgrades are required to ensure continued compliance with drinking water regulations and reduce the risk of water quality issues in the future.

The completed upgrades will modernise and improve the water treatment process at the plant, ensuring raw water continues to be treated to the water quality standards as required by the European Union Council Directive and Regulations.
