Works progress to improve Malahide water supply

Uisce Éireann working in partnership with Fingal County Council is progressing with works on Seamount Road as part of the Malahide Water Supply Scheme to safeguard the water supply for homes and businesses in Malahide and surrounding areas. These improvement works continue to be delivered in adherence with the HSE and government guidance on COVID-19.

As part of these essential upgrade works, customers in the following areas will experience a temporary disruption to their supply on Tuesday 13 April from 10am to 4pm to include water outages and low pressure: Oak Hill, Hill Drive, The Hill, Seamount Road, Seamount Abbey, Seamount Park, Mountfield Lodge, Seamount Drive, Seamount Heights, Knockdara, Jameson Orchard, Robswall and surrounding areas. The outage is necessary to facilitate the safe delivery of these works. Uisce Éireann and Fingal County Council regret any inconvenience caused to impacted customers.

Following completion of the works, it may take 2-3 hours for normal water supply to return to all customers as water refills the network, however, it is important to continue to follow the HSE guidance on hand-washing.

Speaking about the works, William McKnight, Uisce Éireann, said "We understand that this type of work can be inconvenient and working in partnership with Fingal County Council we will make every effort to minimise any disruption that these necessary works may cause. The delivery of these essential works will help to safeguard the water supply to homes and businesses in the area ensuring a safer more sustainable water supply."

Uisce Éireann is working at this time, with our Local Authority partners, contractors and others to safeguard the health and well-being of both staff and the public and to ensure the continuity of critical drinking water and wastewater services.
