Repairs to burst on Burncourt Water Supply Scheme underway

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section.

Water expected to return to all areas late tonight

Uisce Éireann and water services crews are working to repair a burst water main impacting customers supplied by the Burncourt Water Supply Scheme.

Areas potentially impacted include: Burncourt, Clogheen Village, Mitchelstown Road in Cahir, Mountain Road in Cahir, Mountain Drive in Cahir and surrounding areas.

Uisce Éireann’s Colin Cunningham assured customers that every effort is being made to restore water as quickly as possible. “We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we thank customers for their patience while the repair works are ongoing. We anticipate the repair work will be complete by late this afternoon and water should be restored to all customers by late tonight.”

Following repair works, it typically takes two to three hours for normal supply to fully restore to all areas as the water refills the network, especially for those on higher ground or at the end of the network.
