Crews working to restore water supply for customers in Mitchelstown

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section.

Uisce Éireann is working to restore water supply to approximately 200 homes in Mulberry Road, Mitchelstown following a burst watermain.

As a result, customers in the area may experience low pressure and/or interruptions to their water supply. Repairs are due to be carried out on Saturday, January 20 from 6am. It is anticipated that repairs should be completed by tomorrow afternoon.

Speaking about the unplanned outage, Uisce Éireann's, Cormac Bergin said: "We understand how disruptive unplanned outages are and we would like to thank impacted customers in the area for their patience while we work to restore the water supply as quickly as possible. We regret any inconvenience as a result of this issue.

It typically takes two to three hours following the estimated restoration time for normal water supply to fully restore to all areas.

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.

The Uisce Éireann customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact us on X (formerly Twitter) @IWCare with any queries. For updates please visit our Water Supply Updates section on www.water.ie.
