• Patricia is a worthy winner due to her diligence in ensuring key training was rolled out across the Leakage Reduction Programme.
• Uisce Éireann had a concern on the level of asbestos training that was being provided to one of our Contractors. Due to the nature of the works, the Contractor is required to handle and remove asbestos containing material.
• Patricia became aware that the Contractor was only providing asbestos awareness training to their operatives and this was neither sufficient nor compliance for the works that were taking place.
• Patricia engaged with the UÉ HSQE team for support on the concern raised and worked tirelessly with the Contractor to implement and roll out the required training.
• Patricia highlighted the importance of this training to the Contractor, to ensure not only were they in compliance with current legislation but also to ensure the operatives were being trained adequately to prevent exposure to the harmful substance.
