Award Winner
Recognising excellence in promoting safety on infrastructure delivery for Uisce Éireann.
Joe Grace
- Project Manager, Glanua
- ECI Wastewater Programme (Region 2A - Kenmare)
Nominated by: Darren Kehoe, Senior Project Manager, Mace
- Echoed by Darran O’Leary, IDD Programme Manager, Darren Kehoe highlighted in his nomination that Joe stands out in terms of setting the right example for Health and Safety culture. Joe continually demonstrates that he puts Health and Safety first in everything he does.
- On site Joe constantly seeks ways of reducing risks and improving safety. One example is where Joe pioneered a new methodology for installing precast panels, leaving out periodic stitches at ground level for access. This effectively removes the need to work a height as before and drastically reduced the risk from this activity on this site. This improved methodology has since been rolled out across other sites in ECI.
- Joes dedication goes beyond keeping the people on site safe, but the people outside of site too in relation to the public interface of the Kenmare project and particularly traffic safety.
Joe was presented his award on site by Darran O’Leary, IDD Programme Manager for the Southern Region ECI Wastewater Programme. A few days later at the hybrid Ceremony, Joe thanked Uisce Éireann for the award and thanked Glanua and the whole ECI team for their continued focus and support on Health & Safety initiatives.
